Seascape lacks the shape we make.
Like bladed tongues against the rocks.
The sky's face falls in little eyes.
Watch us breakers, shells and shore.

Beachhead rocks disintegrate.
Strewn out seaweeds blanch and fade.
Sea consumes the shape we make.
Gives it to saltwater stars.

Churning crash, a crushing you.
And back and forth among the dark
and changing remnants of the shade
that charged us through a moontide's heart.

Seaside lacks the shape we make,
but now its shape is all and more.
High tides drown our minds away;
much less subtle, more assured.

WOW!!! Oh my gosh, this is such wonderful imagery, sweet friend, I just love the style of your expression how you describe the noon where the rhythm of the waves is light then how the evening have them raging with such deep emotion! (big hugggssssss) Your words always amaze me, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

As I read this, it occurs to me...having not read you in awhile...that you, probably more so than any other poet that comes to mind, writes in so many different styles and forms...that one never knows what to expect when opening up a post of yours. While you have your own distinct style...its always evolving...hard to put a label on you.Still, always there is your gift of imagery...with an edge of abstract.
very cool write Mike...good to see you again.

"much less subtle, more assured."

Sounds a bit like YOU, love.

I've read this several times, and I am amazed at how the meaning turns, sort of like the tides. Your writing has matured, and it's a delight to read you again.

Hi Mike

I think I know the ocean where your eyes feel, and it is real.  Good to see you!

This has a familiar ring to it, of some moments I remember along the jetties and jagged rocks of the great Pacific coastline. Interesting write. And BTW, nice to meet you.

Thanks everyone. Glad to be back (I guess I can't say that enough, huh?). And even more than writing, I'm glad to be reading such great work from many of you. I guess the absence was a good thing after all.

Thanks, Marge. I was trying to get the rhythm of the sea in there.
