Listening to every heart

Transient Passings

get it back,
those thoughts,
to where you
were then last night
without me

while I dwell on
you this morning,
between reading McKuen
cover to cover,
uncovered again
at seventeen
and twenty-eight,
the times when he entered
my life so easily

and now at
fifty
his words come more
like a mellow wine
with understanding

so I finish
him alone,
there on the deck
the glider rocking me,
before the cottonwoods
start snowing,
while the springy breezes
are still blowing

as Abby sniffed her
newspapers’ air
and vied for attention
from McKuen’s cats,
her nose laying on a page
not in need of being
read

and mourning doves
vied
for my ears with
their coos
for two

where were you?

I would have read
aloud
a passage or two
my breath would have
been a bit huskier
in places
as my pulse
raced

anticipation is
a good thing

what stunned me about
his rites
when I was seventeen,
now raises a smile
upon my lips
in appreciation
for what he
so
desired

admired

just once
I want to be bent
by McKuen’s words
as you travel
my thighs
to a sigh’s
realize…

I was here.

Where were you?

I was there...reading over your shoulder...I brought tea.
I remember this lovely tribute to Rod ...has it been a year already?
Time flies when youre trying to find time to read all the rhymes

...give or take a day or two my moth...I'm hitting the road soon, thought I would take this with me in my recesses just to keep me muse happy...

and bye the bye little one...the story shall continue once I return, okay?

met Rod in Berkley years ago
not really a meeting
but a bump into...

"listen to the warm"

made me think of things different

enjoyed the view of you contimplating

good morning sunshine seems to fit

I am now in poet heaven
to read a poet
who met McKuen
smiling here...

wondering what words
of transient
passed between
two minds

Amen. *S* I've lost appreciation for many of the things that fascinated me at seventeen... thank goodness! LOL. But sometimes, there's something or someone I'm just glad I stumbled upon early. *S*

Excellent!

and I await the return, and the follow up.  Well done dear Karilea...well done....

forgot to paint...
