Talk me into the Night

I balk at the shadows closing in
the memories
don't walk when they come rushing in
the hurting
is chalked up to experience once again
and I know
to caulk the windows of my soul from the wind

~ * ~ * ~

so talk me into the night, my friends
walk with me in soft light, no end
of talk throughout the night to lend
a shoulder on which I might cry

hold me and hug me tonight and then
talk a little more my friends
then whisper that there shall be an end
feelings won't break, we'll continue to bend

sing to me a silent song all night
and caress away all of the fright
then never again let loose of tight
just talk me into the night

just talk to me, my friends

Well...thank you both, DS and Sunnyone! I figured if everyone was going to stay up all night and talk, it would be this bunch, and I also figured that there would be a lot of tales told, a few tears, and what not...

perhaps they couldn't hear over the laughter, you think?

We do miss you dearly ... but we are here in voice ... sharing one computer can be tricky, lol.

Thank you for this beautiful post Karilea ... there has been much talking into the night, and wonderful memories to treasure always. What an incredible group of people.

And did you know ... I've been pronouncing your name wrong all along in my mind, lol?

Instead of saying Karil"ee", I've been pronouncing the "a" at the end of your name all this time, and now stand corrected, lol ... but it's hard to re-train my mind.

Best wishes and hugs to you Karile"a",
/Kit

You may call me anything, Kit...as long as it's not late for the talkfest...LOL...I have been called many things, and answer to my name in any pronunciation...you are not the first and may you not be the last...

The best pronunciation I have ever heard was from a teacher in high school years ago...he insisted on calling me

Kah rill ee ah

and to this day, I can still hear his voice...loud and clear!

See why I picked "Sunshine" for Passions?  LOL....

Don't let those latecomers sleep the day away...get their behinds UP and UP....

What a beautiful poem... and how beautiful are the friends that will talk us through, sharing their strength and wisdom when our own is faltering. *S*

I'd bet that most of the tears on the Cape this weekend are from laughter... but one couldn't ask for a finer or more supportive group. *S*

I like this very much, Sunshiney one. *S*
