Butterflies flutter
in the pit of my stomach
it's harder to swallow
like the wind picking up
outside of safe harbors.

My pulse races fast
turning around and about
changing directions
losing my calm
breathing uneven
skipping beats in my heart.

Growing weak in the knees
holding onto the rail
in search of your eyes
to ride out the storm
that tosses and turns
spinning away from the shore.

Looking over my shoulder
where yesterday's gone
skimming the surface
that thrilled to the touch
deflating the wind
that blew in my sails.

Steering off course
drifting farther away
with no end in sight
from my rational thoughts
I can't keep at bay....

ever noticed the storms
on tv are so scary
sometimes you have to look away
to make sure they are not real

wish we could do that in real life too

BluesSerenade - these words describe my feelings exactly. Touching write, sounds like we're in the same place, or at least close...

Sounds like this event has more than one entry! Awesome right. You sure are writing up a good storm.
