Hold on
This listening has me drenched
Hold on to my skin
It weeps words with no sound

I am yellow feathers falling like spring rain
A drift of soft melancholy
Fading into lethargy’s drain
Down down

Close your eyes
Come into this small place of green with me
And listen to minutes stop
Let me gather something from another midnight
And spread it out like seeds

I hear how fragile this song
It whispers against your skin
And lets all the fine hairs hear
How breath boggles in cages
Longing for the air of places joy born

You paint a curve of my line
Into some memory that lost me in my youth
And the softness is still there
I see it in your eyes as they measure
The distance from the night to some morning
Where waking is sweet

Hold on
Torn pieces fall and rebuild a temple
Where believing is

Here in this stopped minute
I can see through the blur
Of all things bumping into my grasp
And for what it’s worth
I understand

But only with my shoes off

WOW!!! Ooohhhhh...I love how you ended this poem, sweet friedn, to me walking barefoot is symbolistic to freedom, and to be free in these memories is important to us all and to feel carefree! (kiss on cheek) This has a gorgeous feel of spring and whimsical grace to it, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

*smiling at you* ...that last line is classic Martie...I bet you write barefoot
Your poetry of late is written from places so deep that it covers me in your layers...
Hold On? ...yes...I do...to every word.

You are such a terrific poet, Martie...
I hope that you publish a whole book of your work someday...and if you do, please let me know because I want an autographed copy...

Isn't it always easier to think when your toes can wiggle freely? Loved that line! Wonderfully penned Martie!
