I have not heard from you in quite some time.
If I called you, would I be out of line?
I don't know why you drifted away.
But if I saw you, what would I say?

You're still on my mind and in my heart.
But time has passed and we grew apart.
I felt abandoned long ago.
Where are you, and why did you go?

I wrote a letter I never sent,
Telling you how much, to me, you meant.
I still have not forgotten you yet.
And though you're gone, I have no regrets.

Your heart was wild and hard to tame.
But since you've been gone, things aren't the same.
I need a soft place to land as our paths collide.
It's hard to find the words of how I feel inside.

This wasn't where we wanted to be.
But you'll always be a part of me.
In the dim misty moonlight,
Thoughts are floating through the night.

I send this wish from here to the nearest star.
Bring happiness to you wherever you are.
So with these thoughts of you and a wistful sigh,
In the gentle wind I whisper good-bye.

Goodbyes are especially difficult when the one you're speaking to isn't there to hear you....at least I think so sometimes. Nice write. I hope things work out well for you and for your friend, wherever they are.

There is no consolation in doing what we think best, it just seems to be the way of it. I'm having one of those moments where I wish I had wrote this.

I felt your words eloise~

That dang letter never sent
how will he know what you meant?
You should have taken the chance
so now with him you might dance.

Sometimes one must move on to another star in the sky. I felt your longing.

Reminds me of situations when I didn't send a letter or contact someone because I didn't feel like I wanted to do all the work and I didn't think it would really matter to them anyway...James

How very beautiful. *S* I like this very much, Eloise... you've captured well the longing, the wishing, the wondering, the need for closure if renewal isn't possible... the knowing you have no option but to move on. Excellent write!!! *S*

I have written these feelings on several
occasions...and even though most are just
poetic expression....it doesn't make it
any easier...

I sense your own are not just expression
but real feelings...

Thank you all so much for your kind and wonderful comments.  Magnus, this was actually poetic expression and not real feelings, however, at one time I have been there before.  I appreciate your comments.
