Some Say

~*Marge Tindal*~

Some say it takes a Sonnet, I say a Villanelle
to write the throngs of poetic songs
drenching me in heart-cast spell~

This ink suits the poet well
penning the thought of wishing naught
Some say it takes a Sonnet, I say a Villanelle~

Words in spew of an ego-in-swell
splash 'cross the page in poetic rage
drenching me in heart-cast spell~

Heart spread wide in open flail
dives into love with breath now held
Some say it takes a Sonnet, I say a Villanelle~

In weave of thought from poet's inkwell
word-bucket is filled to overflowing
drenching me in heart-cast spell~

Pour of thoughts from springing well
inking the very best of my best
Some say it takes a Sonnet, I say a Villanelle
drenching me in heart-cast spell~

I like both sonnets and villanelles, but I've never written a villanelle (not one that I've finished anyway, lol). I enjoyed reading this Marge, nicely done.

Margie girl darling sister of my heart Oh wow, YOU know how I feel about villanelles, the only reason I wrote one was because Krissy had. My aren’t we a competitive pair! Your villanelle is stunningly beautiful, perfect in form and execution wonderful writing absolutely perfect

Oooooh.... my intended response vanished when I read June's comment on vanilla... add cinnamon and I'm in heaven. *G*

This is great, Marge... I like it very much... and admire you for exploring new depths of your talent. *S* But...

I've never considered myself a poet
(Heads are nodding, dontcha just know it? *G*)
My words are just offerings from my muse...
Gifts thrust on my mind that I cannot refuse.
For the giver keeps shoving them in my face
Until I grab a pen (with minimum grace. *S*)
An assembly line worker, I'm given the tools:
Words tumbling out, disregarding all rules.
I slap them together and send them on their way
So they'll leave my thoughts and quit bothering my day...
I've little concern for the harvest I reap
When my muse has insomnia, for I need my sleep! *S*

In other words... I'd be an AWFUL pupil! *G*

Just needing a relaxing time tonight ... and you know what ... I find that relaxation in the archives ... reading the poems of others and often finding one or two of my own that I actually LIKE ... this is one of them ... lots of hard work goes into 'form' for me ... it slows me down, for one thing, and is just plain downright GOOD DISCIPLINE to boot~

Anyhooooo ... I'm archiving ... and might even bump into that ADORABLE DIXIE DOODLE gal down here~

Hi Dixie~
