Without Words

Three words in which to say
what I feel for you
But do you think I can say them?
no, I can’t it’s true

I can make the strong man
weep tears of joy or sorrow
My words can tell a story of
a yesterday or tomorrow

My dictionary and thesaurus
hold the words within their covers
those words I’ve read countless times
written by so many others

Do you think I can write them
here upon this page in black
or will they stay upon my lips
unsaid, so I can’t take them back

If you knew how much I need
to tell you how I feel
if only I had those three words
my love I could reveal.

I liked what you said, and didn't say!
I don't know, but I tend to think
words are never enough, it is more
about how we go about making our feelings known.

Love the word play on the theme of this..and the cadence.
a bittersweet beauty here...Well done poetess D

With No words

Yes, dear, I know
Sometimes words go
Just Fly away somewhere, someplace
Leave an empty longing face
With no good words there to say
I love you, today.

But all the while
You still have your smile
Radiating bright sunshine
Your finest, kindest kind of wine
That steals my soul just ev'ry time
Your very special way, to say
I love you, today.

And darling, you are always heard
With no words.

I could completely understand, or at least in my mind, the meaning behind these words.

this was my favorite stanza...

"My dictionary and thesaurus
hold the words within their covers
those words I’ve read countless times
written by so many others"

that summed it all up for me.

After having my unwise utterances counted and deemed excessive, I've banned certain words from my vocabulary... perhaps the same three? *S*

I like the gentle longing of this very much, PDV... it sits softly on my heart. *S*

(smiles) Oh Sharon, I am so happy you dug this out of the archives to share with us all again, sweet friend, this is wonderful! (sigh) I think we can all relate to this first impression, just because we don't wnat to make fools out of ourselves in case love would reject us! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, your words always say so much, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Sharon~

When you find them, be sure to write them down to share....I, too, have been looking for awhile now...

feel my desire,

Poet deVine - sadness is of your words my friend, mine are also felt at this time. The words to be said, if only one could, and if only one would listen. Peace be with you...
