Do you Write what I Hear?

They stand bravely before me
[or her or him or them]
lines and rounds and curves

perhaps because how they are phrased
and left in tangled speak

this is when I would wish that I might be

hearing Your
voice comb the words fine...
untangling the knots
in the skein

while leaving knots in a listener/reader's stomach

thinking

I wish I
…were there
…were her
…were not her
…were just me
…watched your eyes read me

and I wonder
do you Write what I hear?

Did you have to wind your
innuendo so tight just in hopes
the spring you heard would be that
of my undone?

Have you peppered and punctured
your thoughts just so, to leave them inking here
where they seep oh so willingly
into hungry eyes
and hungrier thoughts

just to leave indelible
stain

I would say damn you are good
but I don’t like to leave words that distract

from you
