Poems of Dimension – Poetry Month, April 2002

Black clad dynamite,
her hair was of angel gold
and her Irish nature
sparkled blarney with class

She read of many things, but
specifically of a Kansas storm,
how it made life
different from the West Coast
and in that, she and I shared
a same difference

She shed not a word of her
age but led us through
chronicles of life.  If you
listened carefully and knew where
to stop, you knew she wore
her time well.

We laughed with her as she
spoke our truths and squeezed a
tear with harsh reality.

In the after words, I wondered how she
would write this night sky
that measured two days worth
of heat, how the cold front
kissed the warm front, who then slapped
warm silly, and flashed
thunderously, whipping into a
dance of Tarantella, and if
God had humor in the wedding of
two opposites, his humor culminated
in the throwing of rice which
sounded suspiciously like hail.

Hail that hailed the poet/author
with applause of Kansas storms.

Ah...she was very good, 'Deer...and the attendees could appreciate her words all the more as they drove home in the storm that came up [and down] directly after her reading...

thanks for the early morning read!

Excellent morning read Karilea.
Could imagine you coming home in a storm after the reading.  Wow!
Talk about special effects.

I loved the beginning... loved the following verses... loved the ending. *S* Are you sure that storm wasn't applauding the words you'd write? *S* Excellent work, Sunshine!

Thank you for the read, Enchantress...it WAS a good storm...

suthern, kind words, lady, and I do so appreciate them, but no, not yet...I'm still hesitant to do much but share what I have here...

and hope that I please a poet or two now and then...

Kari darling sister of my soul this is utterly wonderful writing, the sheer beauty of these words caress my soul with delight. Your writing is always divinely painted in brilliant hues of crystal truths. I love it, I really do. The writing is as always perfect. One day darling heart I hope to capture a thought the way you did

Love and warm stuff

(smiles) Wow, I wish I could have attended her reading too, sweet friend, this must of been so wonderful! (sigh) I have been happy to see other poets read their works aloud, including the modern poet Joseph Hutchinson, who has such wonderful extended metaphors! (smiles) This is excellent, sweet friend, may the rain come and grace Kansas once more with thunderstorms for you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
