why do we write
in words so trite
of so many sunrises,
the way a river flows
of so many sunsets
the vagrant ways of love

so boring
to keep writing what everybody else
may read and like to read
all the time

so useless
to keep trying to make everyone else
feel good and happy
all the time

sometimes it is necessary
to make oneself happy too
and be that way
for a few small moments  at least

it is important
to feel good about oneself
and think ‘yes, I am a star ’
and talk to the face in the mirror
with a smile or two
and see the reflection throw back
a smile or two

how about buying a smile for yourself
and donating a spot of joy to self
be selfish for once
for a small moment or two

it is important
just once in a while
or twice
perhaps!

my friend, we can all use a bit of such selfishness...if that is what it is. enjoyed this and the thoughts it brought to my day.

How true Sudhir!
And, we should write what we are inspired
to write...should we not?
Write for our own pleasure first?
Good thoughts here!

SudhirMyFriend~

To read of the beauty of a sunrise,
To share the gleam of laughter in children's eyes,
A sounding rush the river makes
shares the joy the poet has made~

And then when one writes of self
I know the poet has shared with me
the very thing that lets us see
the instruments of his poetry~

It gives great joy to read and write of all things~
A poet writes for self first ... and shares with the world~
Nothing 'selfish' in that my friend~

Enjoyed~

sudhir, smiling at you across the miles here...sometimes I wish I could stop writing all together. But I am very glad that YOU do, thanks for the wisdom of keeping it all in perspective!

Enjoyed this very much.

why do we write?  because we must. . .

you bring much to this my friend. . . a reminder for us all. . .

(smiles) Yes, yes, I believe the best thing about poetry in general is that it is meant to make ourselves happy, and when we learn about ourselves and find joy and pride in ourselves, we then spread our love to others and share with them this wave of enchantment, and we all become vendors and donate smiles to each and every friend we create in our hearts! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friends, your words are always so delightful to read, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sudhir, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
