Catch My Wind

sometimes these wings
that I sometimes fly
lose their luster
crack and dry
I try so hard
to reach too fast
to sun
that’s when
the wax just melts
and runs
I find when I
don’t beat them
so thin
there is a place
in grace I
catch my wind

Really like the rhythm of this one goes ...
Feels so lyrical to me.

Yes Helen....if we just slow down...seems
that it all comes together better....

Your pen speaks beautifully, Helen.

I was always taught to do good things very slow and only beat my wings fast when I want to get away from something bad. So maybe as you fly perhaps you could just trill a sweet melody and slowly move your wings into a loving glide, breathing slowly and gently.
