When pressures overwhelm me-
In the darkness of the night...
No friends to share my burdens-
My escape is when I write...

I write of things that I have seen,
And places I have been...
And days that I still clung to dreams...
But that was "way back when..."

I write of how things used to be,
And how they never were...
My mind takes flights of fancy..
To where miracles occur...

So if you'd trace the morning mist-
The "Flying Dutchman's" wake...
Then link your wandering mind to mine...
A journey we will take.

Then write into the quiet night
where trusting, among your wearing bones
friendly spirits will come alight
and ride across your wandering poems

Dear Gunslinger - and you do this so well!! Enjoyed, Chris
