Walking on a tightrope
is not for the weak
of mind or heart.

Colin walks a tightrope
strung precariously, dividing
the Middle East apart.

How do you balance
both sides of the rope,
so that no one falls?

Balancing the gravity
of years of history
with the histrionics of today.

Tread carefully, Colin
for a fall
affects us all.

A Peace mantra for Colin Powell, as he walks the tightrope between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

(kiss on cheek) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Noah, let's hope he can pull this one off.

Duncan, yes, we're all holding on tight to this rope.

Kacy,
Ever our social conscience. And you know it is because you do it so well. I do indeed follow world events but this...how needlessly tragic!

Yes, this is one we need to stop following, again and again. I guess we really need a miracle.

I started to highlight my favorite part... but then realized I was copying the entire poem. *S* This is excellent... and so true.

Not many men could be in his place, let alone take his place...he speaks for the world at this moment...

This situation makes me think of a situation where two men are in love with the same woman and neither wants to give her to the other...so hearts will be broken and lives destroyed in the process...and in the end neither will have the coveted prize...James

awwww Kacy:  your venture into nonromantic poetry is a biggggggg hit with me!
Perhaps wishing for the best, is a way of romancing the future.  hmmmm
Very astute, how you picked up that BushWhackers is trying to appease
everyone, and pleasing no one.  Hard, isnt it, to get scared from someone who
has a switch in one hand
and a bowl of food in the other?
What gets what depends on the day.

please, continue with these posts!  You are good at them!

Maybe my poetry isn't reaching the right hearts and minds, for it looks like the tightrope walker had to turn back. Thanks to all who read this, and yes, Jeff, there may be a bigger credibility issue here than some realize. But I believe Colin has his heart in the right place, and good intentions. MY own POV has been that the minute the Israelis elected A.Sharon, it would hit the fan and not stop until everyone was covered with the filth of revenge. And that isn't to say the Palestinians have any right to do what they are doing. It is madness to keep encouraging your family and friends to use themselves as human bombs. Both sides are wrong, but no one seems to be able to make them stop. Perhaps only a UN delegation of people that both sides trust will have an impact. Meanwhile, I will continue to focus on compassion and love for both sides.

Heng, good luck on the exams. Don't feel bad, there are many days when I don't know what's happening. It's a really big world even if it is just a small orb in the universe. Thanks for reading and commenting!
