The Ark

Tender embers burn within
By the churn of our primal sin
Who’ll touch a spark within the dark?
Who’ll save the lives within this ark?

Set tinder and relight again
The dying green within the glen
Smoke hovers a dusty gray
Blocking out our futures lay

Casting shadows ghostly maul
Misdirecting echoes call.
Teardrops like an impulse wave
Water down the fires grave

Blacken rims each circles brim
Smothering the slim to grim
Watch each dying ember out
One by one each tear and doubt.

Falling in the abyss of night
Imploded by a sun to bright.

Sy-babers...this poem is so darn cool...
I just LOVE this poem's whole conceive.
I love the dark, haunted perspective you wrote this in...with the undercurrent of emotion that read like a plea. (Made me think of the scene in Titanic, when the people in the lifeboats are helplessly watching the ship sink)See how much impact the words can have? And the imagery is so impressive.
Very very cool me Stinkylove.

Seymour darling boy this is of course utterly utterly excellent. YES it is, and don’t argue you have such an amazing ability to write in the heart of a soul. It’s as if you can actually etch into the heart of the reader. Utterly utterly perfect writing. It is an absolutely beautiful example of your incredible skill. I love it utterly Wonderful writing and so beautifully penned from a poetic angels pen dipped in poets thought ink.

You do know I love this utterly utterly

Marsha,
I love your subtlety, LOL

JM,
Something I wrote for you awhile back.
       All this and more

She is to me a sphere of joy
A delight and mischievous toy
A wonderland of word and feel
An endless stream of love and zeal.

The dreams she sell and would expel,
Fills my heart like a wishing well.
I drink her with a thirsty need
And hold her with a miser's greed.

She has the softness of a fawn.
The freshness of a bright new dawn.
The mystery of a starry night.
The pleasures of the mornings light.

And though we stand upon a stage
With all the substance of our age
I never could a truer friend
And pray it never, never end.

Our friendship is a Camelot,
So tax me not, a thank you plot.

Sy~ This late at night, my mind has glossed over the meaning, but my eyes and ears greedily took in the images and your flowing rhyme.  I love how this reads.

I like that a lot!!

I was reminded not too long ago that the ark was man-made while the Titanic was built by professionals.  Interestig concept huh?

Thanks for this~

You've blessed me with another keeper~

Your words warm me to the core.

Melissa,
The blessing is mine by your keep.

Hoot,
I'm afraid you will meet a very shy man.
