The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2002-04-14 08:52 AM

I feel brushed off, a piece of lint
Just inconvenient to him now
I think someone should take a note
I'm more than what he cold pushed down..

Not just a simple passing fad
I have a heart, I think it beats
My feelings, thoughts and body too
are worth more than this harsh retreat

I was his friend, his lover too
We went through years of caring so
I'd back him up on any day
He was so right, I'd always know.

I used to think he'd do the same
be there for me through thick and thin
but not the way it has turned out
I say it matters, where we've been.

I cannot understand his point
I still look out in disarray
I know I mattered once to him
confusion haunts me every day

I want to stand and shout and cry
Though he is gone I did not die!

Sandra,

My heart is breaking, again with yours as your beautiful sad poetry continues to cleanse my soul, also. My own broken heart beats with you. Thank you for your tears.

Sandra,
Where is this scoundrel...I'll straighten him out. Let me at him, I can do this. What was he thinking? He shouldn't treat you that way. And after expressing it this plainly he should wake up! Nice write. Hope you know you can do better and that we do care.

YOU SHOULD. (In fact, I think you just did.)

I am proud of you, and I missed you much.

Dear Sandra,

How young we are, the some of us, who know not of the world
Who commit their lives too early without thought
The love one thought was everything, might change as years go on
Times amend, a lifetime can’t be bought

Some they have the strength for change, to say goodbye, farewell
Some may stay without a word, as insides burn in hell

Life is ever changing, what turn might morrow bring
Each gift of joy lets treasure, in fate lays everything

Enjoyed the write Sandra, good luck for the future and love.

Sincerely Rick

(big hugggssssss) Oh Sandra, yes, yes, you do indeed haven't died and your heart and feelings live on, which he doesn't deserve to share if he couldn't respect and love you fully! (sad sigh) My heart goes out to you and I hope very soon you'll find the true love of your dreams, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

catalinamoon...Sorrow lies heavy in your words; but a strength is in there, too.  You have risen like an eagle and flown high above all the things that tried to weigh you down.  BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN POEM!!

I think we all would like to believe that when we invest so much in another it will matter to them...I have noticed how important trust is to develop a relationship...and if the other breaks that trust it can be devestating...James

Sandra - It is in this time of confusion that you must listen to your inner voice - the one which reminds you "self matters." Very well done. Chris

You summed it up nicely at the end!
No love is worth destroying  our spirit!!

and eventually one will want to swim in your aquarium!!   lol~ Listen to me!!!!

Sorry for responding again but I forgot something and hate to edit.  I love your title to this poem.
It did matter to you, maybe he knew that, maybe he didn't...that doesn't make it any more or less valuable.

Ah Sandra, isn’t it the truth huh? Endings can be so cold and heartless…or so it seems to those of us with the broken heart.
(Love the new pic by the way)
