Where does superstition go from here?
hopes to overcome stretched far and near;
when freedom is pinned down by power
when the sands of time hit witching hour.

when superstition still marks the streets
and black abandoned cats stalk their treats;
run away from the feline's crossed path?
or await that bad luck follows at last.

throw some coins and count the heads
rub my fingers along lucky threads;
run to a door knobs, touch the metal
pick a daisy and pull out each petal

the rational has yet to outlive the unexplained
tarot cards entertain those in other domains;
where does superstition go from here
hopes to overcome stretch far and near.

Some people just go toooo far with superstition. The number 13, the black cat, ladder, broken mirror...Sometimes I have good luck, other times I get bad luck.
enjoyed the read my friend

Hi Rosepetal

where I chuckle Rose is that here the unlucky number is thirteen, and in Italy its 17. There they run to touch metal to ward of bad luck, here we say touch wood!!

(sigh) Oh Martin, I couldn't agree with you more and Joanna, I too find superstition to be so strange, and I especially am astonished how so many hotels do not have a Floor 13 on the elevator panel and the whole 666 conspiracy and so many other things! (big hugggsssss) This is so wonderfully said, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I am at apt 14 which would have 13 if landlords had any sense.

Most of the time I am not superstitious about the things that most people are. It is weird things that get me feeling superstitious. I enjoyed very much. Thanks for sharing.

WE are only superstitious about things we know about. Imagine how we ignore all we don't know about. Enjoyed

I find it all amusing actually, as how can people be both superstitious and religious at the same time.  I liked this one a lot!  I personally touch gold to ward off bad luck myself

Let's spend less time worrying about when our life is going to end, and more on when it's going to start!

The unexplained searches for an answer...or a way to understand. As always well done.
