Unchained

A loving relationship,
       Knows not time nor,
Falters at distance.
       Inside is freedom,
To unmask and be,
       Known through and through.
It grows deeper as each,
       One grows and learns.
Real lovers are friends first.
       They each want,
What is best ,
       For the other,
Even if it means taking,
       Second, stepping,
Out, letting go....
       They will always,
Be there ready,
       To share new things:
Joys, sorrows, cares,
       When they return.
Ready to wish them well....
                        If they do not
Sherry Gardner

as a side note.... I wrote this 16 years ago as my (now husband) then boyfriend and I were breaking up... Little did I know that love would come full circle then~~But here we are proof of the Unchained.

Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow.
But above all... be kind to yourself today.

Love should most definitely begin with a good friendship. Well done, Sherry.

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, this is soooooo beautiful, sweet friend, yes, yes, true love should always start as a friendship that is bound to last forever to have the opportunity to understand the person fully in time and to love them for all they are! (kiss on cheek) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sherry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I don't know how I missed this one Sherry.
It most certainly is a beautiful write...
full of many many truths....
I too believe that a lasting relationship
starts out as a trusting friendship...
and grows from there...as yours did, with Wilfred.
Very nicely worded and presented.

The real magic in life - Friendship and love.
These things go hand in hand and your words portray it so beautifully!

How neat to know that things in your life came full circle and this person who you were willing to accept and love became your lover. ** I am smiling **

This poem is precious.

Sherry I know exactly this feeling. I even wrote a poem with just those words...
coming full circle...and indeed love does have a way of doing that. great write,
hugs.

somebodies brush
forgot to paint...
lonely....(as sung by Tracy Lawrence..)
