Why Did You Lie?

Why did you feel the absolute need to lie to me
That's not how you achieve a friend, don't you see
I offered you my understanding, to you I reached out my hand
But now I find I was a fool, but no apologies will I demand

Instead, I shall slowly dissapear from your life, and the lies you told
You almost had me believing in you, but my hand you will never hold
I wish that things were different, and you could have trusted me more
However, what's done is done, and it's time to close this door

I just don't understand for the life of me, why you felt you had to do this
What happened in the short span of time, what did I miss?
I hope that you learn a lesson from this pain you have caused me
Don't worry though it's better I know this now, and can be set free

You won't hear no angry words from my mouth, no I'll be silent and strong
When you awake tomorrow though, you'll find the trails of me long gone
You will probably wonder why, but in your heart you will know
This lie you have told, caused me to let go

"you can't stop
the rain
from pouring down
can't stop the
world from turning 'round
can't stop me from
loving you
no matter
what you do"

Amy~ That line stood out from all the rest.
It's an awful feeling wondering what we missed and how we could have been so blind.
But what goes around comes around, and thank goodness that life goes on.  I felt your pain and know these feelings, which doesn't help a whole lot when you're in that place.  ~Warm hugs~

The power of these words are outstanding, I could feel the anger a the deceit radiating from this. Brilliantly written. Well done darling heart very well done
