A Villanelle Sounds Hard To Do

A villanelle sounds hard to do
But I think I’ll try it Balladeer
I want to see if I can do it too

This villanelle form will I rue
Will it cause me pain and fear?
A villanelle sounds hard to do

How difficult can it be to do?
Will it bring a frown or tear?
I want to see if I can do it too

Why is it such a strain to you?
Will darkness of the soul appear?
A villanelle sounds hard to do

With words that don’t ring true
And lines that seem to disappear
I want to see if I can do it too

You’re right this poem I can’t do
A simple thing to cause such fear
A villanelle sounds hard to do
I want to see if I can do it too

Krissy

I really don’t know if this is a villanelle or not, mum couldn’t tell me as she’s never done one. The template I copied came from
‘Deer’s I Can’t Write A Villanelle
If I got it wrong I’m sorry. Please forgive me, love you all ciao xxxxx

And while thy willing soul transpiers
at every pore with instant fires

Lemmee tell you, Krissy...you done real good! You followed the form of a villanelle to the letter! The meter a villanelle needs to maintain is lacking but, for a new poet and a first attempt, you get my total admiration!

krissy,

this is oustanding, im not sure what all
components a villanelle should have, but
from appearances, it seems to me you did
a pretty darn good job! wonderful write.
