In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-04-11 05:48 PM

Looking at it hanging there on the wall,

Letting a simple reflection
Emerge to extend thoughts
All around, the wind and sea,
A distant horizon of simple shapes
Times like this, nothing softer, nothing
Less will do

When you awaken, living life,
Sometimes in a static
Between stations,
Between any answer you may hope to find
Between lovers pondering,
You search for something to hold onto
A sunrise, a misty lake,
A gentle evening wind
Blowing you perfectly home

The fingers of my soul
Are waiting for a song,
Like a hunger
They become your name
Words depart briefly
From my lips
Shifting deeper into my life,
My heart wrapped in layers (still)

Kissing sweetly
The palms of my hands
Reading your poetry,
Speaking of rain dancing,
Reciting each drop
With closed eyes,
Each trickle
Watching it roll softly
Hearing your words,
Feeling your words
Stir my emotions again
So I place my heart upon
My sleeve

Once more,

Beautiful in your presence
The main character
Of love
but for how long?

Step through the
barrier of my mind,
enter my soul,
feel my desire,
let my eyes guide you
into the shadows of my heart

ya know what I have found along the way...
sometimes its the journey and not the destination.
sometimes ya just gotta fall and not look down...
every once in awhile ya find a soft place to fall.

*sigh* this is a beautiful expression of new love's anticipation and hesitation.
heart-hugs to you my sisterinlonging

how about how good it feels to finally forgive you

Lauren,
I wonder what it would be like to write that poem of which you speak? Awesome, insightful poetry, again...

The answers are hard to come by,
for all that we seek and the love that we miss.
Lauren, your poetic words stir my thoughts in the nicest ways.    Hugs to you~
