I wish I had a lover
Who'd be a permanent fixture
There's so much to be discovered
That's missing from the picture

Committment can be a big fear
Dad says to marry a man with a good career
A lawyer, a doctor, or even a chef
Granted, love is blind but has it gone deaf?

As fast as love comes, it's leavin'
The result of joining for the wrong reasons
Mom says to marry only if I'm in love
There's no better reason I could think of

Interior, Exterior
Differently we're raised
Inferior or superior
If only love could be appraised

Ex lover list gone up to eleven
Opposites attract, no need for a love from heaven
If he makes my heart pitter-patter
And makes me happy, nothing else matters

No one sees your insides like I do
They don't see anything past the eyes' view
And I want nothing more than to get close
So refrain from games that can hurt us both

Interior, Exterior
At some things you'd be amazed
Inferior, superior
If only love could be appraised

Joanna,  I sense a little frustration in this
very well stated poem.  Love,  and a lover
are two things that are constantly moving
targets...I think we are all searching for
one or the other...or both!

Good Luck!!

YAY!!! (showers your lips in kisses) Oh Joanna, I know just how you feel, it seems we all have different perspectives on the ideal love, and I too wish love can be appraised for ourselves and that way we can know what is perfect for us! (kisses) This is a wonderful milestone, sweet friend, I am sooooooooo proud of you, I love you sooooooooo much, my sweet love! (showers you in kisses) BRAVO!!!

May love and light always shine upon you!

What a way to celebrate 3,000 Joanna. A lot of wisdom in these words. And yep, I say listen to your mom too. You don’t need a man for money, you can make your own. But love….ah, there’s no price tag on that.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Congradulations, my dear friend, on three thousand!

And what a good piece to be the 3000th... A much enjoyed read. To live one's life, and be happy, while waiting for love is tricky, indeed. But when that love comes around, oh how good life can be. I hope one day soon you do find your love.

So refrain from games that can hurt us both

that is soooo very true.not many people can see past a persons eyes and see within to that persons soul.  and the ones that can you should hold and cherrish forever.  and the ones that dont aint worth your time   *hugs her tight*  great job hun

Congratulations Joanna
on your 3000 post...Your mother is right...love is the most important thing in a relationship...all of the money and status in the world won't make you happy without the love...
and some advice from an old grandma....
love will find you when you are not looking for it...so just be yourself and have a great time for now...
love will find you when the time is right.
~loving hugs~

I think its nice to take an appraisal of love...we all have inner thoughts of our ideal...hopefully we can recognize them when they come around and make the choices that are right for us...for life can be happy with the right choice and miserable with a wrong choice...and then their is always friendships...all relationships will not be "the one"...James
