Each verse takes me on a journey
To another time, another place
Feelings so warm and tender
As a gentle breeze across my face

I'm transported to a land of romance
As I dance upon his words
His tales have me mesmerised
It's like I'm flying with the birds

Images of a love so timeless
Of two lovers beside the sea
He paints many beautiful visions
Such lasting impressions they give to me

I read his words of romance
And they always make me swoon
My spirit soars so high
As it attempts to reach the moon

He is a humble man of honour
With a heart so warm and true
I'm so proud to write beside him
Upon these pages of powder blue

* * *

To my dear friend, Barry,
You have been a constant source of
inspiration for me from my very humble
beginnings and I just wanted to thank
you for your words of encouragement

How nice Sue and Barry deserves it, He has also inspired me to write love poetry which I seldom write. Nice poem Sue. Floria

Sue, this is just a beautiful dedication to a very humble man who truly deserves it.  He is so loving and kind and always there to offer a hand, a smile or a few kind words. I am sure he is going to be very pleased with this!
Lovely descriptive writing, as well!

I wanted to reply in a poem to you...

I can't....words don't come to mind that I
can express well enough as a poem....

Sue,  it is you who are the inspiration..
For each and every one of us...

Your love of us,  of all mankind are what
inspires me and others as well.

I write from feelings,  from experiences and from within myself...  I will continue to
share the visions I see and feel...

I am very very humbled by this poem...and very grateful for your kindness...

Thank You...I can't say that enough...

He does it, doesn't he, with great style and aplomb, writing of long ago, making it feel like we just walked away from yesterday moments ago...

this is a wonderful tribute...thank you

Sue...this is for you!!!

Magnus

From Knights of Old and maids fair
to romance lost and found with a flair
From dreams that take you into flight
to visions born within one’s own sight.

Journeys into times of his lost past
and treks through arid deserts last
The black holes of the cosmos there
upon the back of a  rocketeer to where?

Tearful goodbyes from Jane to Jack
written fears from heart without lack
Songs of melody sharing  last dance
hoping love  blooms,  one more chance

Love, life, liberty...the kids and wife
parts of his history, parts of his life
Thoughts of those he once dearly knew
Letting the dove fly and return again too

A lighthouse upon the cliffs from up high
A sparkle, gleam, love and tear in an eye
Words of chivalry, winged dragons too
All parts of his poetry...he gives to you

Enjoying all of the warmth conveyed
reasons to remember, reasons he stayed
Cherishing the thoughts written to him
Saying truthfully, Sue...you are a gem!

I'm so glad that so many of you agreed with my words and thank you for your lovely comments.

Barry - What can I say?  You moved me to tears with what you wrote, good tears though. It never ceases to amaze me how much warmth and love I have found here at PIP and as I said I am truly humbled and honoured to be sharing these pages with the likes of you. Thank you my friend.

Take care......Sue
