She said we’d been to first grade together
I took her word for it years later
when we met…again
the television on, muted
Jackson Browne playing, ‘Stay’
and I did
for as long as she wanted me

she was the first girl
who ever wrote me poetry

Glad it wasn't Ray Charles playing "Hit the Road, Jack"!

A very delicate touch here, Sir Duncan

Yes, I think we always have fond memories of the first person to write us poetry don’t we? I recall a one room bedsit, and reading what he wrote. Still brings a smile to my face all these years later.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

I'm still waiting for one to write for me... this tender memory reassures me the wait is worthwhile. *S* I enjoyed this, Duncan.
