A Poetic Smile

I wished to write a poetic smile
Something to stay with you awhile
A written lift to bring your grin
A smile to warm your soul within

I wished to write a poetic kiss
A gift to give your soul some bliss
A warming of the heart inside
A kiss to wear with love and pride

I wished to write a poetic hug
To wrap you in its warmth so snug
A simple gift from me to you
A hug to warm your soul all through

I wished to write a poetic song
To keep you when the day is long
Something to raise the spirit high
A song to help your soul to fly

So I wrote this rhyme for you
To lift you when the day is blue
A smile, a kiss, a hug, a song
For you when everything is wrong

Marsha
