Despair

"As she was dying, the women attending her said, "Don't despair; you have given birth to a son."
But she did not respond or pay any attention." NIV 1 Samuel 4:20

The shoals are lined with cruel jagged rock
Our Captain's drunk he's steers too close to shore
All fish are screaming as they race in flock
It is too late as oil slicks rush to moor.

For jagged rocks have ripped her skin, she spills
A million gallons soon will cover sea
A flood of poison oil now paints and chills
As nature suffers pain and misery.

The eagles die from fish that cannot swim
And gulls are stuck in muck every where
As tides roll in to shore all life is dim
Choking! Crying! Struggling! Dying! Despair!

Where are black vultures called to watch bad men?
Devour them one by one destroy their game
For men to gain from selfish drunken sin
Deserve to suffer more than hell's hot flame.

And so I call all Women ev'ry where
Pick up the torch and save us from despair.

Despair.
