Words hurt sometimes
They travel into my ears and shoot straight to the heart
I learn about things that I never wanted to posses knowledge of
And every once in awhile, I will catch myself saying something
And in an instant, I want to take it back
But my ears have already caught hold of my words and the pain begins...
I can't imagine how it must feel for the person on the receiving end
But at times, I really wonder
"Would I be better off if my ears never experienced pain?"

"Time really does fly by and no one knows where it goes, so if you have something to say or do, say or do it now."

(big hugggsssssss) This is so very thought-provoking, sweet friend, I think those words that hurt us deeply do in fact help us to grow compassion in ourselves so then when ohers hurt we can help them too! good question you raise...sometimes we say things that we really dont mean, and it HURTS...other times we speak the truth and that hurts too! Very throught-provoking poem
