For the past couple of weeks my font has been acting up.
Right now it is set at Arial 10 point and I can hardly see it.

I have been right into the main settings and Font Styles etc., to see what they 'should' really look like, and it has been determined that what I am seeing is 1 point smaller than where I actually have the font display set at!

When I use the drop down bar here to format and I choose Times New Roman and preview, it comes up as looking like Arial 8 or 9 point. Not even 'Times New Roman'.

I have been reluctant to post poems lately due to the fact I do not know if the formating looks the correct size to other members.

This also is happening in my email and I use Outlook Express. It also is set to Arial 10 point, but appears very tiny.

I am running Windows 98SE and my monitor setting is 1024x768.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Nancy.

P.S. Anyone who reads this please tell me what setting you see this in,
as I selected Arial from Ron's drop down bar, and to me it looks like 8 point.

That looks about right to me.

FWIW - how people see font sizes is going to differ based on a couple of factors, the biggest being the resolution they've set their screen to. Depending on what task I'm working on, I can be anywhere from 1280x1024 to so high that you couldn't read text with a magnifying glass (for some of my CAD projects). Another factor is going to be the setting in your browser itself - for IE, go to >View>Text Size> and there are several different options there. See if maybe either of those are affecting your view.

Thanks Christopher I'll give that a try.

If you are still around,
I am setting this with Ron's drop down bar as
Times New Roman.
Does it look like the chosen font to you?

That is exactly the problem Marge.
I DO NOT see any change in size here.
Thanks so much for taking the time.

That's because it's GEEK ... and there IS NO CHANGE, as in GEEK, one can't put the coding for the HTML in~

Check your email, I've sent you an answer to what you sent me ... we'll work this out yet !!!

Chris and Marge, thank you both so much for your helpful suggestions.

And Marge for your tireless patience and emails.

What I ended up doing was to up the resolution, which made everything smaller, and then set my font to large.

This I can live with...I can see again!!
