I seem to be haveing a performance issue on my Php mysql query. with only 800 to 1000 records in my main table, and the equivilant in the other tables it references it just seems to take way too long to display the results. 6 to 10 seconds. Now when I add 300 more to enlarge the table it slows down by atleast 4 more seconds. I'm no expert in this stuff, but that seems like a very small amount of records and it should be sub second response. If I compare it to the pip site which most be huge, mine is so slow.

The question is....

What are the best areas to look at to improve speed and the simplest to implement.

Any help from anyone would be great.
