Where have all the sparrows gone?

Perhaps she is insane
her hair is restless and doesn’t keep still
it swims along the wind.

Outside in the shadows of the dock she beckons
the Willy wag-tail and speaks to pigeons of
certain gods and rulers of the universe.

Where have all the sparrows gone?

She stubs out her cigarette and looks for crumbs.
She does her best to please; to shut out the rain
the thunder-bolts in her head.

Her head is hooked and dangles over the sea
A death grows there under miles of white cloud.
A memory resurrects and her dreams drown in a
“wild rhythm” of a “wild love”

She turns her back on the sun; he who cannot cry
he who whispers endlessly to her pain.

It is noon; sharp
she watches her feet take another
step closer into reality
and she wonders

perhaps she is insane

Note:

Willy wag-tail: is a small bird with black and white colours.  It belongs to the family of the fly catchers. So it catches all sorts of insects. it is forever darting to and fro, looking in all directions for its next prey. Hence the name.. Willy Wag Tail.

Hey gal, the minute
anyone thinks they are sane
in this topsy-turvy world,
is the minute they need to be committed!

Well Mmy.

I doubt you're insane for one thing.

It often comes back to the sea doesn't it baby...

Sigh, I hope you're sorting things out over there, you and your family. You're in my thoughts of course..and as usual - I like your words..

love you

K

A walk on the beach usually keeps those insane thoughts under control deary.

Aye, but insane is not the worst a person can be.....

Your imagery in this so crisp and fresh --
"...swims along the wind...." so vivid it can't not be seen.
