sometmes we roll, back and forth over bumps,
collecting stories & songs of ourselves,
never singing or reading,
only saving-up.
like some miser, alone and afraid -
by our bruises and softness we are seen.

sometimes we hang, restless and wind-bitten,
watching clouds fill and empty assorted skies,
dotted with birds and such free spirits,
longing to be - together.
until we're picked, to garnish a day
or satisfy a hunger, we're taken.

sometimes we share a bowl, shiney.
up against each other without intimacy,
touching without feeling.
not for lack of kindness do we forget to lend a smile or a fine idea.

sometimes we stand alone, being.
neatly and severely contained within our skins
that may serve us up, rare,
or lash out with a territorial sting,
to retreat bitterly,
alone and afraid,
wanting again to hang.

sometimes we shed our skins courageously -
I've seen a molting or two.
mixed up in crispy autumn,
wind caressed and gladly shed,
revealing form someone knew was beautiful, indeed.

a "WOW" of a provocative pen you have!
First I've read of yours. This was a fantastic read...so glad I came in.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

You're all very kind.

I'm glad to be regarded well among the poets of this forum. But I don't write the poems, I just feel them, they write themselves.
That makes sense, right?

Thank you for reading my thoughts.

Brian

when I hit submit, I was told that I didn't vote.  Can one vote for their own poems? I don't think I shall.

I am perplexed! Words such as these were written my a man who calls himself "machiner". I believe "romeo" would be more fitting! Lovely...

It was us in a frame.

Thanks for reading.
