Seeing the way that so many
writers put their bitter or sad
feelings into words
Makes her wonder if it
would help if she
could do that

If writing about the pain
inside her heart that he
caused her to feel
would make this feeling
of darkness quit
coming back to
her mind

Sometimes she will think
the bitterness is all gone and
that she can finally get on
with her life

Then she sees or hears
or reads something
that brings it all back
And she starts thinking and
feeling the hurt
bitterness
and pain
again

If she could only write about
these things
maybe it would help her to
get over not being able
to tell him exactly
how she feels about
him and the things
she found out
that he did
before he
left

If she could only tell him
how she feels about the hurt
he not only caused to her
but to her only
child too

And now,

If she could only write about them
If only

now that he
is gone

Writting, just like talking can sometimes ease some of your pain. Great work!

Lots of emotion in this, Ethel.
I heard the voice and felt the words as I read.
Very nicely done.

Very heartfelt Ethel.

Sometimes we don't get to know the reasons why, but the job before us is to simply trust.... God.

Wishing you peace of mind.

Hugs and love, Pat

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Ethel, I send many angel hugs your way, dearest friend, I still struggle to write about many of the tears I've faced in my life and I truly believe He all makes us better people by teaching us of pain so we can be compassionate and loving to others! (sad sigh) I have more respect for those who are not afraid to cry and show their tears than those who don't and you are one of the most honest friends I am blessed to have, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Lauren,
lost_star,
Vicky,
Dixie,
Skyfire,
Pat,
Noah,
Thomas,
.
.
When I finally get the courage, or whatever it takes for me to write something like this, it's very hard for me. As you probably can tell, there are some things I'm not saying because they hurt so much. In fact, there are some things that had happened that I didn't even know about, until my daughter's husband sent me an e-mail and told me not too long ago. He said that my daughter didn't know that he was sending it.
I just want you all to know that I appreciate each of you that take your time to read and leave such compassionate and sweet replies. All of you are so helpful and I thank you each very much.
Heart Hugs to each of you,
Ethel.
.
.
(By the way, I had typed some more into this response, but decided to delete it. Maybe one day I can write more. Again, thank you all very, very much.)

But, Sue, he's already dead. I wish I
could tell him face to face.....and I want this
bitterness about the way he treated my
daughter out of my heart. Only God can help
me with that, I'm realizing.

Thank you for your sweet replies.

Heart Hugs,
Ethel

Sweet and clean, and painful. Makes me hurt to read it....which is of course the point of poetry, eh? To give a shadow of the experience to the people who read.....

Lovely telling write. I can't help but feel that the bitterness one feels does not affect anyone but the person harboring the feelings. Dead or alive really makes no difference, would not change their quality of life one iota, only yours. You are the one bearing the pain and carrying the burden - time to say enough is enough and channel that wasted energy somewhere else which would hold more profitable outcome for you. Strictly the way I feel about such things and all of us are certainly different.

heartfelt hugs Ethel .... there is a lot I have not yet been able to write about from my childhood , in fact I only told my husband of 32 years about it recently ....
somehow my writing as been kinda therapy , it is helping build the confidence back inside me
I do know what it feels like getting a lump in the throat and choking back tears , I have done it for years

Ethel~ I know this is very hard for you and I really hope that some day you will be able to let it all out.

I'm no Ann Landers but if you don't let your heart and soul bleed some of what you want to say now, it will keep you from being at peace with yourself forever .Take care my friend...Paul

When the right day for the letting
comes, you will know it...
and we will see the spurt of growth,
and hear the dirge, then feel the song...

and it will come...yes, it will...
