Though others may love for a limited span,
Then see it to its ending,
While other loves ended the day they began
And some are just pretending,
Our love is a play with an infinite run,
Without a final curtain;
And we, as the players, will flourish as one,
Like Liz and Richard Burton.

Though some have a heart that sporadically strays
From who it beats for chiefly,
And some, like a candle of Edna Millay's,
May burn for one, but briefly,
You'll live as my angel until you have died,
And really wear a halo--
'Til then, may we always remain side by side,
Like "Puffy" Combs and J.Lo.

That's the point! None of the couples I mentioned stayed together! That's why the poem is called "Romance Without Research".
