~*~

Whither thou goest
I shall follow thee
To the depths of oceans deep
To the height of mountains high
I shall follow thee

Whither thou goest
I shall stand by thee
Thru' all kinds of weather
Tho' it be storm or sun-filled days
I shall stand by thee

Whither thou goest
I shall love only thee
From the depths of mine heart deep
To the height of mine soul on high
I shall love only thee

Mr. T. ~ you're such a sweetheart,
There is always room for thee!

If I found the perfect man for me!

Suitors I have a plenty
But my heart I hold quite dear
I give not my love freely
Just because a man is near!

Morning Linda,

Love the title and the poem. So sweet. Me too...er, ah, that is how I ~would~ feel..

Very, simply beautiful, from the heart, a sense of what true love should be....

Smiling at Sy's reply....

Enjoyed greatly, Hugs, Pat

I join ST in pining
and almost could be whining
when reading your verse
I feel quite worse
But joy in that I'm signing.

ahh..such lovely words upon which to build a foundation

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Excellent piece, straightforward.  My only suggestion is that maybe you could play around a little more with the imagery or maybe add a metaphysical conceit if you'd like (examples read John Donne) I really liked it though, sorry if it seems i don't.

OH YES!!  Linda, you already know this is just how Gary and I feel, don't you? Can I keep this one? He loves your replies to my love poems so much, I think he would enjoy seeing why you're so sincere in your replies....you truly and totally understand me and him.

Pat ~

Morning to you as well, dear friend! I often write straight from my heart and without my head involved--nothing fancy--written with little thought to structure, imagery, rhyming... just something plain and simple and hopefully rings true to those who read my words that I dish out like a home-cooked meal!

Warm hugs,
Linda xo

"Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much!  You have such a beautiful heart, sweet" Noah!  Words that you so often say to others, that apply to you as well!

Brad ~

Welcome to Passions! I am sure that you will enjoy it here! We are a great big loving family who love writing and reading poetry!

Yes, my poem is most definitely "straight-forward"! It is plain and simple sentiments from the heart. I know you are not familiar with my poetry, but I couldn't help but chuckle when your suggested that I add a metaphysical concept to a poem! LOL --I AM metaphysical being! It sounds as though you have a bent for the unseen as well and I look forward to reading your poetry!

Warm, welcoming hugs,

I am very pleased that you would like to "keep" this poem! It makes me happy just knowing that two lovebirds such as yourselves would continue to enjoy it--and each other!

Lots of love & hugs to you and Gary,
Linda

As a little girl, I'd read the verses in Ruth and wait for the day I could speak them to someone special. *S*

*sigh* I'm still waiting!!!! LOL (Mind you, part of the deal is that he sticks around to listen as I speak! LOL)

I love this, EA... very much. *S*

Five stars...reminded me of a song...
"I will follow you, wherever you may go.  There isn't an ocean so deep, a mountain so high it can keep, keep me away, away from your love."  It had a fantastic flow...James

James ~

I do not believe that a poem of mine has ever received a 5-star rating! Thank you! I have, however, received a 4-thumbs-up rating which gave rise to several questions for me as to the origins of the replier!

Lovely, I give it two thumbs up (just so you won't question my genus) and five stars for the poetry in motion.
