Near golden sunsets

They stepped into the ring,
eyeing each other with calculating regard.
The blue singlet took top position,
grasping the red's elbow,
encircling the waist.

The signal was given,
blue locked arms immediately,
straining to twist red around,
pushing shoulders close to the mat.
Red kicked free,
shooting low for the legs.

But blue dodged fluidly,
staying clear of red's fierce grip,
angry abandonment.
Again, red lunged for blue,
striving for a slam,
a quick pin.
And, again, blue slipped away.

Red shot too low,
sliding to the mat in frustration.
Blue, patience perservering,
took the easy opportunity for a hold,
tightening, tightening, harder, harder.
Furious, red twisted and thrashed;
no availing, points were scored.

I shook my head in frustration,
banishing both thoughts from my mind.
Blue would win out for now,
but red may one day be victor.

I can't decide if this is a metaphor for divorce, sex, love, sex, pot-luck-parties, sex, decoupage'. or? perhaps? ACTUAL WRESTLING???

LOL.......well done. Funny i never even thought of it being about sex until now(which is unlikely for me cause sex is always on my mind...lol) very well done. Thanks for doing it. I thought it would be an interesting challenge since i've never seen anyone write about this topic before.
