Beneath the northern stars

(thanks to Nice Days for the title…hehe)

Once there was a girl
Who thought she knew it all
Pretended she was confident
Never thought she’d fall
Every time she hurt
She’d keep it all inside
Never wanted them to see
All the tears she cried.
She didn’t want to open up
To let anyone get near
Getting hurt all over again
Was her biggest fear.
Sometimes it was so easy
Other times, it got so hard.
Locking herself up seemed good
Because her pain had left her scarred.
Scars never really heal
They always leave a trace.
Soemtimes you can see them
Just look closely at her face.
But on the other hand, the scars
Do not always cause pain
They’re just a part of the past
Like part of life is rain.
Someone straight out told this girl
She’d someday have to trust
She didn’t want to admit he was right
But she realized it was a must.
It isn’t always easy
But she wants to let her past go
Doesn’t want to screw up again
But rather learn to let things show.
