For many years SIA has been an empty runway
going to and from nowhere I'd want to be.
And now the gift shops may open
before the 4th of July.
I wonder, just what will the vendors sell?
Miniature battlefields
full of GI Joe's?
Has Mac Donald's
signed their contract yet?
Does Barbie
wear combat boots?
Whose flags will
grace the tops
of tiny sticks?
Which oil company will get
the next contract?
Will the UN flag ride high
in the Iraqui sky?
Will the Iraqui's fly
their flag some day
when the occupation troops
go away?

Don't get me wrong...
I never honored Saddam.
But the land known as Iraq
is not a part of the US of A,
so when we are done with this dirty deed,
we should all pack up and fly away,
book a flight from the new BIA,
Baghdad International Airport.

We need people to speak from the heart...we need people to speak from their heart with beauty and passion. You do it all.
Thank you.

Eric, I humbly thank you for your reply.

James, yes, BIA...it does have a more pleasant ring to it. Perhaps, some day, I will make a visit again to the ME. But it's doubtful. I still remember too vividly the runway military escorts I had on El AL  flights, not to mention the bus terminals in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and the grenade going off behind me on the Via de la Rosa.
