You grow complacent
drenched in your competence
God wants to remind
your life isn't quite your own
Don't waste on self-involvement

hey thanks Pat,
i have been in a reflective mood these days too...this SARS virus took my nation by surprise and to date, 4 people have died from it...i'm not spiritual but it kinda got me thinking into how and why such things happen and perhaps, more importantly, to take stock of my life and appreciate the fact that there must be someone Greater, Higher than me to allocate our fates for why do these individuals perish while I still survive and remain cocky?

thanks for being here with me..

Life is so fragile. We should not waste a precious moment. SARS is a devasting new illness on the world scene--especially in Asia.

thanks for visiting Linda...

we mustn't spend our time here and as cliched as it sounds, i think we must strive to make this world a better place when we leave than the state it was in when we arrived...

a timely reminder for me to be less selfish and to reach out to my family, peers, community more

what kind and flattering sentiments, Kacy...

though it isn't like i have to deal with it..i don't visit hospitals and no one in my social circle is affected by this disease yet..i should most likely escape unscarred, unless God has other plans for me

An excellent play on words; and, a reminder of what is important.

Thank you.

(big hugggsssssss) I only wonder how our medical research money will be spent now, as if AIDS is bad enough! (wipes tears) My prayers are with all the world that the remedy can be found to this mystery illness, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kaile, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Kaile,

At the same time I was answering this yesterday a couple from Kansas(?) was being featured on morning news; they just back from China, adopting a child, and he contracted this disease, and got well. Sadly, many couples are now foregoing trips there for adoption purposes until a cure is found.

Have no idea if God is doing this, but I did like your answer to Linda in the #4 post. And as Alyssa said we never know the day. Like you, I too, would like to think I did more than live for self while here. I have believed for some time attributes such as compassion, empathy, and love for others is the God part of me. I personally believe without God, I'd be quite self-centered, as most animals are.

Appreciate your Tanka...quite thought provoking and worth a little bump.

Stay well, happy day,  Hugs, Pat
