“MAGNOLIA BLOSSOM”

I picked a blossom from a
Magnolia tree in the meadow
and gave it to you, and you
placed it in your hair of silk
ringlets that flowed with
the gentle breeze…,

Hearts sang in tune beneath
the moonlit sky, scent of
flowers carried upon the
breeze, sweet upon my soul…

I was in awe of your beauty
as I gazed into eyes softer
than a summer night, and
I was taken with the
enchantment of you…

Whispers in the night beckoned
my still soft heart, a solemn
concerto of strings dancing
in step with an angel…

My heart beats with desires
warm, as I’m drawn
closer to one with a
magnolia blossom
in her hair…

All I am able to do is sigh
your memory,
it lives with my every breath . . .

Well now, that was the nicest romantic little ditty I have read in a long time.  Congrats to you both on a wonderfully done poem.

littlewing - I know, I know, I've already replied but I just wanted to thank you for writing this with me again. I'm so glad that some of the duets made the book, as they are special, and I wonder if any other poets elsewhere have written duets. At least I haven't seen them as yet. You're a very special lady Sue, very special...
