upon the cross your cruelty hangs
your religion not yet able to give it
wings

salvation became skilled at absolution
salvation learned staying
power

somewhere far off a dream of freedom desperately
hangs on to forgiveness to excuse
its abandon

vengeance is mine sayeth
the Lord

so in the name of my sanity and survival
discolorations and derisions are
deeply buried;

years of accumulation serving
to greatly increase the depth of
my encumbrance

the burial place centers directly
over the determination of
my soul

one day deliverance thought
to let the burden go but

deliverance was wrong

for in this darkest of nights each abuse-
grave clothes cruddy and crumbling-
rises before me taunting
its injustice

upon the cross your cruelty hangs
my faith not yet able to give it
wings

The sadness of this seeps into the very bones... the lack of hope is heartbreaking... and yet faith still exists whether there's flight or not. I'm not sure why this left me with the image of a poor soul imprisoned unjustly... and yet reaching through the bars to share a blanket with an uncomfortable criminal... but it does. *S* Your words do reach on so many levels. *G*

JB, this is a very powerful write. I think it's really good that we can voice our thoughts and feelings on these pages of blue. I always love to read yours, because I know you it will have some of God's Word in it. God bless you.
