Fragile

Flimsy words that film hazel eyes
changing them from blue to green
envy, aroused by desire for,
mindful of the suppression
drowning in the depression of
walking on the margin of lies
hiding from the inner strength
that pushes the tears to overfill
wondering "why me"
how much longer and how much more
the impact of driving me fetal.

Light blinds these eyes, invitation denied.
Darkness, once feared, now protecting
the child within, whose heart wants out of body
attacking from the inside, so painful each beat.

Mirrors are draped, reflection unseen,
vibrations of living, edging me closer
to the fallout of emotions, a wailing,
just wanting an end to it all and the strength,
the strength needed to go on
without cliche's filling the empty with
"time heals", "take one day at a time",
"learn from your mistakes",
"no one said life is fair"
etc. etc. etc.

The truth is "there is nothing to fear but fear itself..."
as I try to wade through its layers.

M

That was a great poem! I really like your writing style! I look forward to reading more from you. I also like the ending of your poem! =]

Where you look for broken hearts...you'll find me...
mend my broken heart and love me
because I forget how to smile.

Yes fragile, but your words express it powerfully.
A state of mind that haunts us at times... only at times hopefully!

And yet you open to this state with courage and the faith of the next moment. This is beautiful.

may be beautiful to you...but it's like a cry for help when there is nothing anyone can do...to stop the turmoil that swirls inside my mind.

Thanks
