When a pedestrian poet scribbles,
everyone who reads cries
or giggles with glee
for he is so adept
at capturing
the essence
of you and me,
and colors our world
with an emotional intensity
in purest poetry...
and only a true artist
can do that
consistently,
while walking the streets
in love of life,
observing the minutia,
head high yet
void of arrogance,
minus attitudes of
aloofness and condemnation,
always observing the vicissitudes,
the variety of hues,
caressing the rainbow
that collectively is our humanity.

Yes, dear Ed,
you are a pedestrian,
but never pedestrian.

with a thank you for writing this.

Ed is among my type five favorite poets here at Pip--not to mention a gentleman, and a gentle man.

Gotta love a yeti.

AMEN!! That's wranx exactly! Such talent, and so humble along with it.

Wish I had written this.

Ed, next time you feel down, take a long look into this mirror.
