When The Night Woods Weep
~*Marge Tindal*~

When the night woods weep
and I, from restless sleep,
am summoned, to hear her lament
Silently on slippered feet I hasten
to stand beneath the boughs of the night~

Moisture-laden drips of deny pelt the earth below
Gathering silence from the dark … I embark
on a path of remember~
Back to a time, a long ago time …
when this earth, in abundance, danced in Indian moccasins~

I harken to the night woods weep
hearing the repeat of Ancient Spirits
calling forth from the soul of Mother Earth
this land of birth from the beginning of time~

Touching me with the tears of the past
pulling me into the tears of the night
Have we not learned … no, of course we haven’t
that these lands were given to be spared this plight ?

Take what you will … but respect the night,
Give back to the earth … more than you took
Nevermore will she weep in silence
Until she is … Replenished … ~

I dedicate this poetic offering to Ron Carnell,
in sincerest appreciation for giving me a place to share~

Deep appreciative thoughts to all who circle here~
I enter seeking serenity ... and always find it encircling me~
This is 'home' ... this is 'home'~

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Marge...Your poetry is always full of passion and heart. Your beautiful images dance across our hearts. This poem had a Native American feel to it. You know how much I love Native American spirituality and poetry. Wonderful writing, Marge. ***Ivy Rose

Marge, I so thank you for sending this to me, for continuing to share here, in Ron's home, where so much could be taken for granted, until we pull back and see just what this man has done...

allowing a community of poets, over 6,500 strong...which, when you consider, is larger than some small communities!!!  I know some folk just visit - some will leave and never return...but I believe it will be a long while before dust enters in and takes over, don't you?

This poem...is very special to me.  For reasons others will have to go back and see why, for the connection of hearts between us....

and yet, you and I have met and shared, separated, meet again, share, smile, and continue on our ways in sharing...and for this?  You are Very Special to me....

Hugs, Marge...

you will soon see a special repost...with you in mind....

Marge, the passion for your ancestry and the love of land pours forth from this magnificent bit of writing. The following line holds much wisdom that we in this present time so desperately need to learn:

Have we not learned … no, of course we haven’t
that these lands were given to be spared this plight

Will we ever learn ... I cry with you and the night woods. Hugs for peace, Marti

Your writing is so touching, so moving... so delicate... so wonderful to read you, time and again and then yet again...

traversing the circles
in infinite little steps
looking for corners
that are present
in countless zillions

one step ahead in time,
with a footprint left behind
the mirror shows whats in front
yet presenting a reflection
of what has been: like history
of the good times and
...

yet memories, priceless as they are
always in faint remember
of what has been
like shadows of willows
caused by the moon's silver rays
falling on the ground where
they earlier were laid
by the sun's golden sheen

all we have to do is see
and enjoy the visions of our inner eye
and we will find ourselves
        Replenished
with eternal satisfaction
an original contentment

and the untold stories will live on
in the heart of the whispering woods

and generations will then hear

----------------------

Regards to you my friend,
Sudhir
P.S. thank you for the moment of inspire...

I've been enjoying the treat I found in my email while the werk monster limited my time on the blue pages... and every reading is indeed a treat. *S*

This touches on so many levels, Marge... from the beautiful title through the sincere dedication... and leaves me with so much gratitude that your heart listens so intently. *S* This is a treasure, lady. *S*
