The last tick of the clock
sounds louder in this room
Once painted bright yellow
now it’s rusted with secret gloom

Once filled with laughter’s gaiety
now echoed steps sound in the hall
Once held up with love and care
it seems about to fall

Door closed one last time
the home we knew is past
As I drive away today
I’ll cry for you at last

Damn Sharon! This is so ruefully hollow.....
It fairly echoes.

Nicely done poet sir (hehe)

Indeed, it aches so very softly. A wonderful, yet hauntingly sad write.

An all too familiar echo~

Best to let the tears flow on their own
and wring them out.

Sharon, this one hurts, but it's
written very beautifully.

I surely understand this piece... The thing about time, of course, is that there's a new door to open next... Nicely done, PdV...

I know just how you feel (I think) We moved just recently and I miss it... I miss every place I have ever lived.... the empty spaces are filled with memories..... Guess you will just have to take them with you.  And, yes, I hope you are doing OK.

Cherish the good memories of the past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. But above all... be kind to yourself today.
