I awoke like every other fool
to the sound of tempting tracers
flying in my mind, ringing some
forgotten truth amongst truths.
Shamefull act of wishing I were
anywhere but here, yet  still hoping
here is where I am, for I am
burdend with regrets I cannot fathom.
To see myself older, grey hairs
creeping up on the sides of me
and the nagging knowledge that
I may move to a din of pain.
To throw my hands in the
coolness of the lasting wind
from the coastal plains over
those western slopes that protect me.
Letting it flow through my
fingers like the loving carress
I once felt long ago from some
not forgotten love still inside.
I reap the value of those moments
charished, content in what they
were, knowing I will keep them
forever within my souls mentality.
And again the wind, savage me
for the pity I feel, completing the
transition of time so I may
fly freely among the stars.

Yes, lest we e'er forget...
Michael, so glad to see you, my friend.  It
has been too long since we last spied a poem
from you...
and I am grateful that this is a book submission!

I haven't read you for some time
and almost forgot how well you write.

So very poetic are your words that ring
with hard truth's.

Well done Michael~
