I saw a white Magnolia
floating in the surf
just above the waves
a flower from Mississippi
dancing in the gulf waters
against the Florida shores
simple beauty trapped in a swirl of blue sea
back and forth with the surge of the tide
I wade out into the water to catch it
but the flower seems to elude me
as my feet sink into the sandbar
it drifts just out of reach
The faster I walk the further it slides
into the depths The sun starts to set
and my vision becomes obscured
by the orange glow
and I wonder if I will ever hold
the Magnolia in my hands

Thomas119gold - I love those southern magnolia's, just as big as a pie plate. Nice write, and it has my vote...

Oh yes, I love magnolia trees, almost as much as the lacey mimosa. The citrus scented blooms are just lovely. This is a wonderful write, and it gets my vote.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Thomas, this is so beautiful but felt sad to me, dearest friend, I hope the flower isn't symbolic of your love and hope that true love always fills your heart, this reminded me of that scene in Cast Away with Tom Hanks when he tried to get Wilson but the volleyball drifted away, this is touching, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Thomas, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Elusive beauty slips away from our grasping hands... but remains protected in our hearts. *S* I like this very much! *S*

Yep,  I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
I remember those southern magnolias, the sandbars, the warm gulf waters.
