on the open road with the wind blowing in my hair

his eyes open slowly
as he sees
his drenched clothes
clinging to his
skin and bones
with brain
stuck
somewhere in the
head
he stirs
slowly but
only to remove
broken bits
of balloon off his wet
and dirty clothes
(all that remains
of the water
balloon
is the wetness
around and on
the man)
the man pokes his hands
in his front pockets
fishes for a pair of
shiny
new
quarters
buys a coke
and then sits
down
thinking to himself
first
shower in days.

the only people for me are the mad ones-mad to live, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at once--jack kerouac

That is a very odd poem, but that is what makes it neat.
