we brought
the strangers into
our midst - sanctuary despoiled

crowded- there is no room
left for a we

you outside of me
and me outside of you

darkness between

shooting pointed arrows
does not work
towards a united front

neither
standing stalwart and
brandishing weapons

shall we destroy or
shore up this breach?

watchers glare
from atop the barricade

shall we circle each other
seven days
and on the seventh
seven times around?

can we hear God’s
prompting, his direction?
shall we now shout?

are voices
alone
enough to make the wall
crumble?

Voices are powerful enough to do most anything if there are enough of them united. Great piece!

wow.

There is so much symbolism in here, and yet, it's so intensely personal, I don't think I'll even try an interpretation.

But? As always, your emotion shines. As if you were talking right to me.

(not a bad idea, by the way... )

love ya me sis. (you always strike some unusal images for me--and in this case? it's best I remain mysterious )

I agree with Serenity ...I always come away  from reading you with emotions stirred.

It depends a lot on what those voices are saying. *S* But even the most conciliatory words won't help unless both hearts WANT the walls to crumble... otherwise, a slight tremor in the walls just supplies more rocks to throw.

Wonderful work, lady... no one does metaphors better... no one grabs my heart more completely. (well... 'cept Toe... and I think he used superglue. *G*)

I do enjoy your poetry. Glad to see you are posting. I like what Southern said, about more rocks to throw. But, you mentioning God, reminds me so  much has to do with His will. I deeply believe that, no matter the circumstances...

Hugs, Pat

Wow, beautifully and sensitively done....wouldn't change a word of it.
