What thoughts sweet muse
as through some magic portal pass
unrestrained to you?

Roses blooming
betray breathless secrets
imagery scented dreamscapes budding
in alabaster soaked dew?

Tender fingers
dying to unfold mysteries thin buried
beyond drench of morning light
shadowed figures, writhing?

Dying moon
kiss silken sheets that sweetly
trace contours of pleasure
untold beyond these walls?

Now, fingers stained ink black
parchment piled about my feet
some empty, some half full
devouring hours
till quill inspiration's sweet revenge.

Do these thoughts pass undetected?

Robert

Such longing beauty in your words...I think you may have seduced your muse with them.  Much enjoyed!

A vision of Nostradamus came to mind...burning the midnight oil...unfinished quatrains on crumpled paper about his feet...

Thoroughly enjoyed your poem---and all the images that were brought to mind.

Peace & Light,

nicely done Robert...and not lost on those who dropped in I see. You weave this well and your muse it would seem sits on your shoulder with a smile.

Ah, I've uncovered a treasure...
You have a certain panache
of writing "old world"
that I enjoy very much...

thank you Robert...
