~*~

Here I sit just staring,
At this white and barren page,
My vacant mind's clamoring for
The wisdom of a sage.

If my soul were that of poet,
I could write of love and life,
With care and sensitivity,
Bringing joy ~ not ever strife.

If songs dwelled within my heart,
My poems could rhyme in beats,
The readers would then sing along
And be rousing from their seats!

Perhaps with third eye open,
I could write of things unseen,
Tapping into other realms
Of then, and now, and been.

If this mind be not so closed,
I'd see both sides of matters,
I would not use my quill to fence
And leave this page in tatters.

Perhaps, with an artist's eye,
I could use my pen to paint,
Of nature's beauty in a poem,
From the lofty to the quaint.

If I opened self to Spirit,
My vision then would clear,
My writing would reflect that Light,
And all would see ~ and hear!

~*~

Chris ~

It thrills me to no end when a poet deems any of my writing worthy of "keeping"! Thank you, dear poetess!

Gary's Dear Girl ~

I have goosebumps! You and Chris honor me with your adding of my poem to your list of "keepers"! I have received so much from that blank page!

Sweet Sue ~

You can't imagine my complete and utter amazement that I have three fine poets wanting to "keep" a poem that came from my staring at that blank page last evening!
Life certainly has its surprises and little miracles!

Linda

Very nice,
But

With the soul of a poet
Doesn’t guarantee
love and life,
With care and sensitivity,

Sometimes you find no love
No caring and no sensitivity
Just the cold stark reality

Which can also be the soul
Of the poet

Professor ~

I couldn't agree with you more! --and you, dear POET, are a perfect example of that--yes indeed you are!   Poetry comes from sadness, joy, the Light, the Dark,-- from a whole gamut of life experiences. I appreciated your thoughtful reply and for giving me the opportunity to voice that I most definitely do not believe that poetry only comes from the pollyanna side of life!

Peace & Love,

I know no other person more open to the Spirit or the Light than you. Trust me, you see and hear just fine. And you write like an angel.

(smiles) Oh Linda, this is lovely, sweet friend, I always try creative approaches in getting poetic inspirations, including getting a bunch of magazines and creating collages and writing from the collage, and going to the art museum! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Linda, don't ya just hate that white space sometimes. It seems so vast, and just begging to be filled with wisdom. You did a lovely job of filling it with this earthy write.

Dear Rose of White ~

Oh, yes! That blank white page can appear as insurmountable as K2 or Mount Everest! This is experienced by most writers at one time or another!

Warm hugs to you, dear poetess!
